Did you know that there is a perfect yellow out there for you? Yes! It does exist!

Did you also know that many of our clients had told us in their surveys that they had written off yellow because the color looked terrible on them?

I (Kim) was one of those clients!

My favorite color is yellow and as much as I loved the color, for the longest time I felt like it didn’t love me back. It made me look tired, it amplified all my facial dark spots, and I looked like a zombie in it 🧟‍♀️. Not exactly the vibe I was going for. How could such a happy color make me look so unhappy?!

I found out from my consult that I had been choosing the wrong shade of yellow to wear. In fact, I didn’t even realize that cooler yellow shades existed prior to my consult. I mean, they’ve been around all along, but how had I not paid any attention to them?

I had found myself buying whatever was “popular” and for a while, the warm marigold and rust shades were available in many stores. I was following along with what was trending but looking back now, I wasted so much money buying items that simply did not do me any good!

I’m SO glad to find a yellow that loves and honors my natural design and doesn’t weigh down my complexion. It took a while to pinpoint the right shade of lemon yellow, but now I’m OBSESSED and can’t stop wearing it. Yelow is still my favorite color to this day, and it’s here to stay!

Best yellows for Spring palettes

For our Spring gals, look for warm yellows - they have a hint of orange in them! For our Light Spring gals, your yellow is like a stick of butter and banana pudding! For our Warm Spring ladies, your yellow reminds me of the smiling sun that is drawn in children’s illustration books, sunflower petals, and begonias. For our Clear Spring babes, your yellow reminds me of the belly of a canary bird, and Spongebob Squarepants, lol.

Best yellows for Summer palettes

For our Summer ladies, look for yellows that have a hint of coolness to them. They look like they have a grayish or bluish undertone to them, as if you accidentally added a blue or charcoal gray sock to your load of yellow laundry- whoops! Light Summer’s yellow looks like chiffon cake or a glass of lemonade. Soft Summer’s yellow reminds me of that GORGEOUS dress that Kate Hudson wore in the movie “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”. Simply iconic! Cool Summer’s yellow reminds me of all things lemon, from lemon cookies to lemon tarts to lemon cream pies. Now I’m hungry!

Best yellows for Autumn palettes

For our Autumn sisters, earthy yellow shades are your go-to’s! For our Soft Autumn gals, look out for shades like goldenrod and mustard yellow. For our Warm and Deep Autumn ladies, you rock the rich yellows that have a hint of brown to them. Think of the late evening sun that’s about to set over the horizon, the color of saffron rice, and golden yellow zinnias.

Best yellows for Winter palettes

For our Winter babes, you look stunning in neutral-cool yellow shades! Cool Winter gals, look out for lemon yellow shades as well. Your yellow is very similar to Cool Summer’s, but it has just a tad bit more punch to it,. For our Deep Winter babes, your yellow is pretty neutral and reminds me of a yellow crayon and Tweety Bird. For our Clear Winter ladies, your yellow is bright and electric! It reminds me of the color of tennis balls and a fresh yellow highlighter right out of the package.
